The disclosure relates to an electrical device comprising a housing, a tamp er resistant switch disposed in the housing, and an electrical component dispos ed in the housing. In this case, the tamper resistant switch can be in electrical communication with the electrical component to selectively electrically connect the electrical component with at least one electrical contact such as a power input. The electrical component can be in the form of a receptacle outlet, a motion sensor, an indicator light or addition al tamper resistant switches. In one embodiment, the electrical component can be coupled in seri es with the tamper resistant switch to be selectively turned on. For example there can b e a tamper resistant switch disposed in a housing along with a motion sensor or light sensor. In the case of a motion sensor, the tamper resistant switch can be turned to an on position to activate the motion sensor. If the motion sensor detects motion, then this motion sensor can be used to activate a load such as a light electrically coupled to the device.
