The invention provides organic electroluminescent devices which are lowered in the driving voltage and have long lifetimes and aromatic amine derivatives capable of realizing the devices, that is, novel aromatic amine derivatives represented by the general formula (1) and organic electroluminescent devices which each comprise a cathode, an anode, and an organic single-or multi-layered film lying between both containing a light-emitting layer as the essential layer and in which at least one layer of the film contains an aromatic amine derivative represented by the general formula (1) either alone or as a mixture thereof with other ingredient: (1) wherein R1 to R7 are each independently hydrogen or the like; a, b, c, d, e, f and g are each independently an integer of 0 to 4; h is an integer of 1 to 3; and Ar1 and Ar2 are each independently substituted or unsubstituted aryl having 5 to 50 nuclear constituent atoms. |
