Contents are selected depending on variation in walking tempo. The walking tempo is detected (S5), and, in a state judgment processing (S7), a judgment is made whether the walking tempo has a tendency to increase, is constant, or has a tendency to decrease. A walking tempo correction coefficient is calculated depending on the judgment results, and a corrected walking tempo is calculated using the walking tempo correction coefficient (S9). Whether alteration of music is required or not is judged based not on the actually detected walking tempo but on the corrected walking tempo (S11). When it is altered, an object music content is searched. When the walking tempo is decreased, previous state is sustained for a while; when the walking tempo is increased, it is followed up quickly and a melody is selected; and when the walking tempo is stable, a melody is not selected.
