A welded joint satisfying the requirement (a1) that the ratio between the hardness of weld metal, Hv(WM), and the hardness of base material, Hv(BM), namely, Hv(WM)/Hv(BM) be below 1.1, or the requirement (a2) that the hardness of weld metal, Hv(WM), be 210 or below and simultaneously the fracture toughness value of weld zone, Kc, be greater than 2,000 N/mm1.5 (b1) or satisfy the relationship Kc>=Kq(=cD√('a), cD: design stress, and a: assumed defective dimensions) (b2). The brittle fracturing resisting performance (fracture toughness value Kc) thereof is verified by confirming that actually measured hardness values satisfy the above requirement (a1) or (a2) and that actually measured absorbed energy, vE, satisfies demanded vE and by employing predicted Kc value based on transition temperature, vTrs. |
