A steam generator and a dishwasher having the same are provided to reduce use of water and noise generation during steam discharge by forming at least one opening, through which steam is discharged, on a steam guiding part. A dishwasher comprises a tub, a steam generator, and a steam guiding part(400). The steam generator has a steam outlet(321) for supplying the generated steam to the tub. The steam guiding part is formed at the steam outlet to prevent the water contained in the steam generator from flowing to the steam outlet. The steam guiding part extends toward the inside of the steam generator. The steam guiding part is integrated with the steam outlet, and formed with at least one opening(412) for discharging the steam to the steam outlet.
