A display control method, a terminal using the method, and a recording medium recording the method are provided to perform the quick movement of a pointing cursor between objects and the movement of the pointing cursor to a random position in an UI of displaying the objects which interact with a user on a screen by using the same movement key, thereby enabling a user to perform the movement of an interactive position simply in a desired method. A display control method in a portable terminal comprises the following steps of: displaying an UI(User Interface) and a pointing cursor(S20); moving the display position of the pointing cursor in correspondence to the handling direction of a movement key when the movement key of moving the pointing cursor is inputted after a predetermined time passes(S30,S35); and moving the display position of the pointing cursor to an object adjacent to the handling direction of the movement key when the movement key is inputted before the predetermined time passes(S40).
