摘要 <p>An amble modulation series is provided to supply the amble modulation series used in the downlink relay zone of an IEEE 802.16 network. An amble modulation series "PNi^A", related to a preamble modulation series "PNi^A", where i = 0, 1, ..., 113, in an IEEE 802.16 network, is provided for the IEEE 802.16 network according to a mathematical formula "PNi^A(j) = PNi(J-j)", where i = 0, 1, ..., 113 and j = 0, 1, ..., J. In this case, J depends on the FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) size of the IEEE 802.16 network. In case the FFT size is 2048, 1024 or 512, J becomes 567, 283 or 142. The amble modulation series is used in the downlink relay zone of the IEEE 802.16 network. For example, an MR-BS(Mobile Relay Base Station) can insert the amble modulation series in a frame to be transmitted in the downlink relay zone. Also an RS can insert the amble modulation series in a frame to be transmitted in the downlink relay zone. A lower RS can use the amble modulation series in performing time synchronization, carrier frequency estimation, channel response estimation, cell/sector identification, etc.</p>
