2-Halo-6-O-substituted ketolide derivatives of general formula (I) and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, having antibacterial activity, method for their preparation and their use for manufacturing a medicament for treating bacteria infections. Thereinafter there are disclosed pharmaceutical compositions containing a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the invention in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
