An apparatus for processing a rail surface is provided to reduce time and cost required for processing the rail surface by processing the rail surface without disassembling a rail. An apparatus for processing a rail surface comprises a transfer table(100), a driving unit(200), a processing unit(300), and a control unit(400). The transfer table includes a base(110) and a roller unit(120) installed on the base. The roller unit is fixed to a Y-axis rail. The driving unit is installed on the base to drive the transfer table. The processing unit includes a surface processing cutter(220) for processing a surface of the Y-axis rail, a driving motor(340) coupled to the surface processing cutter, and position adjustment units provided on the base to adjust the position of the surface processing cutter.
