PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with a retainer, which is good at precision, inexpensive, and reduced in the risk of drop out of the roller. SOLUTION: The roller 21 with the retainer comprises a plurality of the rollers 22, and an almost cylindrical retainer 11 to retain the rollers 22. The retainer 11 has a pair of rings 12a, 12b, a plurality of pillars 14 expending axially to connect a pair of the rings 12a, 12b so as to form a pocket 13 to store the rollers 22, a pair of annular flanges 17a, 17b extending from a pair of the rings 12a, 12b radially, and inward projection portion 18a, 18b extending from a pair of the flanges 17a, 17b axially inward. The inward projection portions 18a, 18b contain a roller dropping-out prevention portion 19 to prevent the rollers 22 stored in the pocket 13 from dropping out radially inward.
