PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with a retainer, which is greatly reduced in the risk of dropping out for the roller. SOLUTION: The retainer 11 provided in the roller 21 with the retainer has a pair of rings 12a, 12b, a plurality of pillars 14 extending axially to connect a pair of the rings 12a, 12b so as to form a pocket 13 to store the roller, a pair of annular flanges extending radially from a pair of the rings 12a, 12b, and an inward projection portions 18a, 18b extending from the flanges axially inward. The inward projection portions 18a, 18b contain a roller dropping-out prevention portion 19 to prevent the roller stored in the pocket 13 from dropping-out radially inward. Each the pillar 14 contains a central roller stopper 15 to prevent the roller stored in the pocket 13 from dropping-out radially inward. Here, a circumferential interval L<SB>1</SB>of the roller dropping prevention portion 19 is shorter than a circumferential interval L<SB>2</SB>of the central roller stopper 15.
