PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail storage device of a chair type stairway elevator capable of reducing the occurrence of bending of a movable rail due to the offset load of a chair with a simple structure and preventing the forward falling state of the chair. SOLUTION: Attachment plates 10, 11 fixed in the divided side end of a fixed rail 2a and the movable rail 2b of rails arranged along the wall surface of stairs are connected by a rotary arm 14, and the movable rail 2b is made rotatable between the extended position and the upper part storing position of the fixed rail 2a by rotation of this rotary arm 14. A supporting member 34 supporting the intermediate section of the rotary arm 14 receiving the offset load is provided in the fixed side attachment plate 10, and a reinforcing bar 35 is attached in the fixed side attachment plate 10 in a state of being fastened together with the fixed rail 2a. In the side edge of the fixed side attachment plate 10 that comes into the abutting state with the movable side attachment plate 11, a pressing member 40 receiving the offset load of the movable rail 2b by the contact of the side edge of the movable side attachment plate 11 is provided.
