PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material capable of preventing any deformation or breakage of a plate-like body by effectively absorbing impacts from the outside irrespective of the position of a brittle portion of an end of the plate-like body. SOLUTION: The packing material 100 comprises a packaging bag 10 for packaging a plate-like body 11 and an exterior material 1 for packing the plate-like body 11 placed in the packaging bag 10. The exterior material 1 comprises a bottom plate 2, first turn-back pieces 4a, 4b, second turn-back pieces 5a, 5b, and third turn-back pieces 9a, 9b.
