A lighting device (10), comprising at least one solid state light emitter (11) and one (or more) optical device(s) (12) which (each) comprises at least first (13), second (14) and third (15) optical structures, first (18) and second (19) surfaces of the second structure (14) being in contact with a surface of the first structure (13) and a surface of the third structure (15), respectively. The third structure (15) has at least one optical feature (22). The light emitter (11) is positioned, the optical feature (22) is positioned, and the regions of the structures have indices of refraction, such that if the light emitter (11) is illuminated, at least a portion of the emitted light will enter into the second optical device structure (14) and exit from the optical feature (22) on the third (15) structure. Also, a method of lighting comprising illuminating a light emitter (11) in such a device (10). |
