The device comprises a tension-free unidimensional element, and a nutrient for the growth of the microorganisms or cells. A hydrocolloid matrix is also provided, where the matrix of the element is held by the element, in which the matrix partly surrounds the element or the element covers the matrix or the matrix of the elements. The ratio of the length to middle diameter of the cultivation device (1) is greater than 500. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for the microcultivation of microorganisms or cells, which involves applying cells of the microorganisms on the matrix in an inoculation area carried to the surface or into the interior of the matrix with an inoculation liquid; and (2) a method for manufacturing a device, which involves manufacturing an element by press over the outside cavity of a circular nozzle in the form a hose.
