MULTILAYER ENDLESS BELT FOR IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer endless belt for an image forming apparatus in which the adhesion between a surface layer and an intermediate layer is assured and which has long-term reliability in a severe use environment at high temperature.

SOLUTION: The multilayer endless belt for an image forming apparatus is obtained by forming an intermediate layer having an elastomer and a surface layer formed of a fluorine-containing polymer in this order on a base layer, wherein a surface of the surface layer adhering to the intermediate layer has been subjected to plasma treatment. In the plasma treatment, a treatment space in which the surface layer is put is filled with a predetermined gas to a pressure higher than the external pressure and suitable for the generation of plasma, and the surface of the surface layer is subjected to plasma treatment in the treatment space.
