<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a motor from becoming high in temperature, even under sequential shifting control. <P>SOLUTION: When the temperature Tmg of a motor MG2 is a threshold Tref or higher, a shift position SP in which the engine lower limit speed Nemin, corresponding to the same vehicle speed becomes lower the higher the temperature Tmg of the motor MG2 is selected, regardless of a driver's operation of a shift lever (S140). An engine 22 and motors MG1, MG2 are controlled so that the engine 22 is operated at a rotational speed that is not lower than the lower engine lower limit speed Nemin, obtained based on the selected shift position SP and vehicle speed V and that demand torque Tr* is output to a driving shaft within a range of battery input-output limit Win, Wout (S150-S230).
