PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a brass-plated steel wire, capable of improving the service life and the wire drawability of a final die, which are problems in conventional techniques, to secure high adhesivity and high ductility, and further improving productivity, and to provide a steel cord and a tire that are obtained through the method. SOLUTION: The brass-plated steel wire is manufactured through a step of performing wet drawing by a multi-stage slip type wire drawing machine 10. The brass plating layer of the steel wire has two plating layers composed of a lower layer part and a surface layer part having a Cu content higher than that of the lower layer part. A final drawing die 14 of the multi-stage slip type wire drawing machine 10 is immersed in a lubricant liquid 11 to conduct wire drawing, and final wire drawing is conducted with a sintered diamond die 15, which is arranged at the back of the final drawing die 14, at an area reduction rate of <2%.
