The invention relates to a method for assembling a vehicle glazing (1) on its holder by gluing, in particular the windshield of a vehicle bodywork, said method comprising; applying a bead of glue (2) on the peripheral portion of the glazing (1) to be glued onto a reception rebate (3) defined by said holder; applying said glazing, substantially perpendicular to the average plane thereof, against said rebate (3) and pressing it for carrying out the gluing operation; characterised in that before applying the glue bead (2) on the periphery of the glazing (1), the method comprises gluing on the latter a compensation wedge (4) for receiving the glue bead (2), said compensation wedge (4) having a base surface (4a) provided opposite a lower surface of said glazing and an inclined surface (4b) oriented at an angle different from zero relative to the base surface (4a).
