PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose an object indexing system and a question system of an image database in an automatic visual system. SOLUTION: A list of ranked objects is generated by applying a similarity metric to a set of characteristics represented by numerical characters or a combination of sets of characteristics, and the similarity of an object that goes across the visual range of an image sensor is ranked. The visual system selects the image of one object, stores the image (further accumulates the instant images of the object to generate a database) and asks a question to an object provided with the same characteristic in the database when the image of the object goes across the visual range of the visual system. When a user designates his/her object of interest, the system returns a list of ranked objects being similar to the object. Color histogram is one of characteristics. |
