<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplexing relay system for a PON capable of economical system construction in which the number of home-side apparatuses that can be accommodated can be increased. <P>SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplexing relay system 1 includes a WDM coupler 4 for combining a plurality of PON signals, which a plurality of station-side apparatuses 3 in a central station 2 treat, having different wavelengths or splitting a PON signal into different wavelengths, a single optic fiber 5 for transmitting a wavelength-multiplexed signal 11 combined by the WDM coupler 4, a first power splitter 6 for splitting the downward wavelength-multiplexed signal 11 transmitted through the optical fiber 5 and coupling the upward wavelength-multiplexed signals 11, a transponder 10 for transmitting and receiving a PON signal having a wavelength corresponding to a specific station-side apparatus 3 of the PON signals having different wavelengths included in the wavelength-multiplexed signal 11 split by the power splitter 6, and a plurality of home-side apparatuses 8 that is connected via a second power splitter 16 to the transponder 10 and transmits and receives a PON signal to and from the transponder 10 using time division multiplexing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
