ION-CONDUCTIVE POLYAZOLE HAVING SULFONIC ACID GROUP AND MEMBRANE CONTAINING IT AS MAIN COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer material which can be a polymer electrolyte having an excellent ionic conductivity as well as an excellent durability. SOLUTION: This material is a polyoxazol or polythiazol containing sulfonic acid groups. It contains at least one sulfonic acid group in its molecule. The logarithmic viscosity of its 0.05 dl/g solution in methane sulfonic acid at 25 deg.C is not less than 0.1 dl/g. Its conductivity obtained by measuring its 10,000 Hz AC impedance at 80 deg.C and 95%RH is not less than 0.3 S/cm.
