PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle electronic apparatus operating device capable of rapidly shifting a dial operation unit to the projecting position if the operation is required, and reliably returning it to the evacuating position otherwise. SOLUTION: A hand of a user approaching for the operation of a dial operation unit 2 for adjusting the temperature of an air-conditioner is detected by an approaching object detection unit 15. A dial operation unit 2 is advanced/retracted in a fitting hole 201h formed in a casing 201 based on the result of detection, and its advancing drive is limited when the air volume in the air-conditioner automatic mode is maximum.
