PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge preventing a leader member from seprating from holding sections without causing problems, such as a cost increase and difficulty in processing even if a shock or the like is applied to a case due to falling etc. SOLUTION: The recording tape cartridge 10 is provided with a leader member 30 which is attached to the end of a recording tape T, and is formed with flanges 36 at both ends, and holding sections 40 which are formed in an upper case and lower case and hold the leader member 30 near the opening 18, in which a shock absorbing means 70 to absorb the shock applied to the case 12 by deformation is formed within the holding sections 40 or near the holding sections 40.
