PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which quickly starts, is excellent in cold and hot offset resistances in a halftone portion, and has a good fixing property. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes heat-pressure fixing of a toner image t1 on a transfer material P by a heat and pressure applying means 100 to form a fixed image t2 on the transfer material, wherein the heat and pressure applying means includes: a magnetic field generating means 17; and a rotary heating member 10 consisting essentially of a heat generating layer which generates heat by electromagnetic induction and a release layer, and a toner forming the toner image contains at least a binder resin, a colorant, a release agent and a specific oxycarboxylic acid, wherein the mass of the oxycarboxylic acid extracted from 1 g of the toner by a highly alkaline aqueous solution is prescribed.
