PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic charge image development which ensures less resistance change even in long-term use, achieves high stability of image density and shows an effect of suppressing the occurrence of image quality defects, an electrostatic charge image developer including the carrier for electrostatic charge image development, a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic charge image development comprises a core material containing a ferrite component and a resin coating layer formed on a surface of the core material, wherein the volume resistivityρ1 (Ωcm) of the core material in an applied electric field of 10<SP>3</SP>V/cm, the volume resistivityρ2 (Ωcm) of the core material in an applied electric field of 10<SP>4</SP>V/cm and the volume resistivityρ3 (Ωcm) of the whole carrier in an applied electric field of 6,000 V/cm satisfy the relationships of the expression (1): 0.98≤ρ2/ρ1≤1.01 and the expression (2): 10<SP>8</SP>≤ρ3≤10<SP>11</SP>.
