PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broken yarn treating apparatus for melt-spinning, which is capable of treating a broken yarn in a short time and quickly restarting a spinning apparatus when breaking a yarn passing through a cooling wind blowing apparatus having a cylindrical form in melt-spinning a thermoplastic polymer. SOLUTION: The broken yarn treating apparatus for melt-spinning is provided with at least a spinneret 1 to form a multifilament yarn, a yarn cooling device 3 placed below the spinneret, a spinning cylinder 4 added under the yarn cooling device, an oil applicator 6 placed in the spinning cylinder, a yarn breakage detector 10 to detect the breakage of the filament yarn and a driving device 11 to lift or lower the yarn cooling device 3. When the breakage of a filament yarn is detected by the yarn breakage detector 10 during a melt-spinning process, the yarn cooling device 3 is lowered by the driving device 11 according to the yarn breakage detection signal transmitted from the yarn breakage detector 10 to form a space to discharge the broken spun yarn between the spinneret 1 and the yarn cooling device 3.
