PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables efficient extraction of uric acid from a solid biological sample, such as a nail, hair, the skin, and detection of the acid. SOLUTION: In the detection method of uric acid that includes the process of extracting uric acid from the solid biological sample by a basic solvent, ammonia water is used as the basic solvent and by using luminol which is a chemical emission substance uric acid is detected efficiently.
