Methods for administering pressure changes to a user for the treatment and prevention of diseases and conditions are disclosed herein. Methods of administering Cyclic Variations in Altitude Conditioning Sessions (CVAC Session(s)) for the treatment of steroidogenesis, steroid levels, and treatment of serum lipid levels are disclosed herein. Also disclosed herein are methods of administerting CVAC Session(s) for the treatment of steroid levels and steroidogenesis associated with HIV infection.
