<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables a user to select a density correcting processing, an image forming method using the image forming apparatus, and a program which is readable by the image forming apparatus for implementing the method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a storage part for storing a target density value showing density that is a control target, and a target parameter used to form an image of such density and a test pattern corresponding to each other; an image forming part 10 for forming the test pattern of predetermined density; a detection part 20 detecting the density of the formed test pattern as a detection density value; and a control part 30 capable of performing at least two kinds of density correcting processing that a correction parameter is calculated by using the detection density value detected thereby and the target density value and the target parameter stored in the storage part and the correction parameter is given to the image forming part 10 so as to form the image whose density is corrected, and performing one of at least two kinds of density correcting processing in response to selection by the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
