<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution server capable of preventing fraudulent decoding and copying, etc., of contents and protecting the contents, a client terminal and a content distribution system. <P>SOLUTION: The distribution server distributes stream data, wherein kind specifying information specifying the kind of a reproduction object client terminal for respective contents and content selection information describing the selection procedure of the contents are included in stream data including the contents. The client terminal is provided with a stream data reception part for receiving the stream data, a content reproduction part for reproducing the contents and a content deciphering part for deciphering ciphered contents.
