PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily match a light quantity peak position of a light source with an image reading position of a document surface. SOLUTION: An image reader is provided with an illumination part 24 constituted by mounting a holding member 138 to which a light source 140 and a reflection member 142 are fixed on a traveling body 112 to which a reflection mirror 26 for reflecting reflected light from a document surface to a prescribed direction is attached so that the mounting position of the holding member 138 in the traveling direction of the traveling body 112 can be adjusted and capable of matching the light quantity peak position of the light source 140 with an image reading position of the document surface by adjusting the mounting position of the holding member 138 in the traveling direction of the traveling body 112.
