PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast recording apparatus and a broadcast recording method capable of recommending the titles of program contents which best matches user's preference from among a large amount of recorded program contents. SOLUTION: The broadcast recording apparatus includes tuner sections 12, 13 for receiving broadcast signals, demodulating the signals and outputting program signals; recording sections 21, 18 for managing a plurality of program signals from the tuner sections under a plurality of titles, respectively and recording the program signals; a reproducing section 23 for reproducing the program signals recorded by the recording sections; a preference detection section 42 for generating preference information, indicated by a recording tendency by the recording processing of the recording sections and a reproduction tendency by the reproduction processing of the reproduction section; and a reserved program recording section/preference detection section/reproduction recommending section 42 that calculates the recommendation values per title, according to the preference information generated by the preference detection section and performs display with prescribed display, added with respect to a title of which the recommendation value is qual to or larger than the prescribed value and is largest.
