PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner unit where a reading part is held by a holding part without coming off from the holding part by energizing force generated by an energizing member, consequently the scanner unit is easily attached to/detached from an image reader such as a scanner. SOLUTION: The scanner unit is equipped with: the reading part having a plurality of photodetectors arranged side by side at least in a main scanning direction and a shaft part extending in a horizontal direction, and optically reading an original; the energizing member generating energizing force for energizing the reading part in the light receiving direction of the plurality of photodetectors; and the holding part having an insertion part including an insertion groove in which the shaft part is inserted, and a restriction part restricting the movement of the shaft part in the direction of the energizing force and holding the reading part.
