SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a hydrogen storage electrode, by electrolytically reducing a hydrogen storage alloy electrode containing hydrogen storage alloy powder as the main component in acid or alkaline aqueous solution, is provided, and the hydrogen storage alloy electrode, obtained by applying electrolytic reduction treatment in acid or alkaline aqueous solution to remove inactive film existing on the surface of hydrogen alloy powder, is provided.
