Disclosed is a Leitholf-type diving capsule comprising a floating body. Said floating body encompasses a hatch and a hatch cover while enclosing a chamber for receiving a diver. The chamber is accessibly via the hatch and can be sealingly closed by means of the hatch cover. When the diving capsule is properly used, a diver is completely surrounded by water in the chamber. The floating body is made up of at least one pipe, one face of which can be closed by means of the hatch cover. A buoyancy element is provided inside the floating body. During operation of the diving capsule, said buoyancy element is arranged above a diver located inside the floating body, is at least partially filled with air or another gas, and is fixedly connected to an internal surface of the floating body in order to generate a righting moment when the diving capsule is twisted about the longitudinal axis during operation of the diving capsule. |
