#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a base body (2) formed with a cylindrical retainer (3) to retain a piston (4). A clamping cone (13) is arranged between the piston and a pivot (8), and control surfaces (17, 18) are formed on the cone and the piston. Control surfaces (16) are formed in cooperation with the control surfaces (17, 18) at a locking unit (15). The locking unit is radial movably arranged in the base body and locks the positioning and clamping device opposite to a workpiece or tool holder. Z-support plates (26) are formed at an outer periphery of the body (2). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for tools and/or workpieces (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The configuration of the positioning and clamping device facilitates the utilization of the device even with a high load. The locking unit operates without balls, so that the clamping force is distributed on the surfaces instead of on the points. The retention force of the locking unit can be highly adjusted without the danger of the damages of the device. The Z-support plates are formed at the outer periphery of the base body, so that the device ensures a higher reproducibility even after a longer lifespan. The device can be easily cleaned and can be formed with fewer components.
