ELECTRONIC-CONTROL TYPE IGNITION KNOB LOCK APPARATUS FOR CAR AND LOCKING METHOD THEREOF

An electronically controlled ignition knob lock device and locking method are provided to start the engine by pushing a button without making modification on existing steering column and key cylinder, and to improve security by allowing only authorized users to insert a key to the key cylinder. An electrically controlled ignition knob lock device has an ignition knob body(200) at the front end of the key cylinder where a key is inserted, a shaft(21) placed in the ignition knob body with being paralleled to the axis of key cylinder and connected to the inserted key at an end of the shaft to insert the key and to transmit rotational force, a motor(22) connected to the other end of the shaft to travel and to rotate the shaft, a start switch applying signal to operate the motor, and a controller(300) which authorizes information transmitted from a key fob(500) and operates the motor for the insertion and rotation of the key when signal is applied from the start switch upon completion of authorization process.
