<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic tag system capable of promoting the sales of commodities, using the electronic tag system. <P>SOLUTION: A customer terminal 2 reads customer characteristic information from a customer characteristic information retaining medium 3. It then sends customer characteristic information to a commodity information display device 1. The commodity information display device 1, when receiving the customer character information, changes the information that it is displaying.
