<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety valve having improved safety, which is mounted on the container for releasing gas from a container when a temperature rises. <P>SOLUTION: A body 3 has a mounting portion 6 to be inserted into an opening of the container T, and a large diameter portion 5 which has a larger outer diameter than the mounting portion 6 and whose outer peripheral edge 5a abuts on the surface of the container T. A casing 2 has a lower face abutting on the upper face of the outer peripheral edge 5a of the large diameter portion of the body 3. A plurality of axial through-holes 32 are provided in the outer peripheral edge 5a of the large diameter portion of the body 3, and female screw portions 33 are provided in the casing 2 through its lower face corresponding to the axial through-holes 32.
