PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile RAM, in which a work area frequently accessed by an application and an area for storing a program code can be constituted by one chip with a chip size smaller than in the past. SOLUTION: The nonvolatile RAM which is a nonvolatile memory performing reading and writing of data at random includes a memory area including a memory element controllable to a data retaining state of either a nonvolatile mode in which a storage content is never lost even if power supply is cut or a volatile mode in which the storage content is lost when the power supply is cut; an address setting register for setting an area of address range that is each object of nonvolatile mode writing and volatile mode writing in the memory area; and a memory control circuit which performs writing of data corresponding to each address range in reference to the address setting register.
