PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage rise/fall type switching regulator which securely prevents generation of a reverse current in each operational mode. SOLUTION: A reverse current detection circuit 9 compares a voltage difference between an output voltage Vout and a voltage BOLX with a reference voltage generated in the reverse current detection circuit 9. When the voltage difference becomes less than the reference voltage, a predetermined reverse current detected signal S1 is output to a control circuit 8. Then, when the predetermined reverse current detected signal S1 is input, the control circuit 8 turns off a synchronous rectifier transistor SW4 for voltage rising, keeps it in off state, and prevents the generation of the reverse current.
