PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for removal of harmful substances which can remove harmful substances, e.g. environmental pollutants, efficiently, allows its manufacture with a convenient method and is regenerated easily and an inorganic fine particle which is useful in nano-technology and has low bio-absorbability. SOLUTION: A DNA-coated inorganic substrate is produced by bringing an inorganic substrate, e.g. a metal or a metal oxide, such as a photocatalyst, into contact with DNA in a solvent to form a DNA-coated inorganic substrate on the surface of which DNA is coated.
