TREATMENT LIQUID FOR METAL SURFACE TREATMENT, AND SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment liquid and a surface treatment method where a surface treatment film having excellent corrosion resistance after coating can be deposited on a metal surface without incorporating components harmful to the environment and without generating sludge made into waste. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a water base surface treatment liquid for surface-treating a metallic material selected from an iron based material, a zinc based material, an aluminum based material and a magnesium based material or simultaneously surface-treating two or more kinds thereamong. The treatment liquid comprises: (1) one or more kinds of compounds selected from a zirconium compound and a titanium compound by 5 to 5,000 ppm in terms of the above metallic element; (2) free fluorine ions by 0.1 to 100 ppm; and (3) one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of a calcium compound, a magnesium compound and a strontium compound; wherein, the concentration of the above compound is 5 to 50 ppm in the case of a calcium compound in terms of the above metallic element, and is 10 to 5,000 ppm in the case of a magnesium compound or a strontium compound in terms of the above metallic element, further comprises: (4) nitrate of 1,000 by 50,000 ppm; and (5) at least one kind of oxygen acid and/or oxoate selected from HBrO3, HNO2, H2O2, H2WO4, H2MoO4and their salts, and has (6) a pH of 3 to 6. The treatment liquid may further comprise a polymer compound and a surfactant. A metallic material is brought into contact with the above treatment liquid, so as to form a film.
