<p>The method involves operating an engine (12) in such a manner that its air intake manifold (19) does not receive air from a compressor of the turbocharger (10). Energy is provided to drive a rotor (14) from the turbocharger exhaust of the engine. A compressor outlet (26) of the turbocharger is opened for the environment and a restraint (28) is designed within the compressor outlet to increase the pressure in the compressor outlet.</p>
