METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING A FUGITIVE PATTERN FROM A MOLD

A method and an apparatus for removing fugitive patterns from a mold are provided to reduce cracks of the mold during removing the fugitive patterns and to prevent steam from approaching the outer side of the wall of the mold as if the mold is supported by a particle support medium. A method for removing fugitive patterns(10) from the inside of a refractory mold(20) comprises the steps of: injecting condensable steam and a surfactant(SF) into the mold so that the condensable steam and a surfactant are melted by coming into contact with pattern materials; condensing the condensable steam which is placed in the mold and melted by coming into contact with the pattern material; and discharging the pattern material melted in the mold and the condensed steam. A surfactant promotes the exhaust of the steam.
