<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a modulation method while preventing increase of power consumption by a comparatively simple process in a communication system for supporting a plurality of modulation methods. <P>SOLUTION: A modulation method determining apparatus 300 comprises a sampling unit 306 for acquiring N pieces of data samples by sampling an envelope signal 207, and a modulation determining unit 308. The modulation determining unit 308 acquires an average value A1 of sample values of the N pieces of data samples, and determines whether the modulation method is PSK or not based on a proportion P1 of the sample data indicating the sample value near the average value A1, then calculates a weighted average which is performed weighting each sample value larger/smaller than the average value A1 by the number of data samples indicating the sample values as average value A2/A3, then the modulating method is determined whether it is OOK or not based on a proportion (P2+P3) of the sample data indicating the sample values near the average value A2 or A3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
