<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pleating apparatus capable of forming neat folds in a packaging bag. <P>SOLUTION: The pleating apparatus includes a first pleating member 20 which is uneven in shape and has a plurality of cavities 24 for pleating and a second pleating member 40 provided with a plurality of band bodies 44 for pleating. The band body for pleating is forwardly/backwardly formed at a position opposed to the cavity for pleating. These band bodies are independent with each other. The abutting timing to the bag opening of the packaging bag is fastest at a center band body among the band bodies, and the abutting timing is controlled in such a way that the band bodies around the center band body gradually abut. Accordingly, the band bodies are sequentially pleated from the center of the bag opening outward, so that the neat folds are formed at the bag opening. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
