<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to successively grasp the relevance of electronic files shown by the position relation of each mark(for example, icon) for identifying an electronic file even when the display position of the mark on a screen is changed. <P>SOLUTION: A region R with the display position of a main icon A as a base point is specified as a displayable region of slave ions B and C subordinate to the main icon. When an operation to move the main icon A is accepted from the user, the main icon A is moved to the designated position, and the slave icons B and C are moved to the inside of the displayable region R whose position is changed according to the movement of the main icon A.
