PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of bubbles flowing inside from a main jet and keeping drivability of an engine good in a carburetor including a fuel passage connecting to a main jet opening part from a fixed fuel chamber in a float chamber bottom part side. SOLUTION: In a carburetor 1A for an engine including a fuel passage 7 connecting to the main jet 5 opening part of a main well 7 from the fixed fuel chamber 31 in the float chamber 3 bottom part side, the fuel passage 7 includes a fuel horizontal passage 7a having an base end side opened to the fixed fuel chamber 31 side and a fuel vertical passage 7b having a distal end side opened to the main jet 5 opening part side with continuing the same. The fuel vertical passage 7b forms a fuel pocket and a vertically long column shape bubble growth inhibition member 70 is provided inside with keeping a predetermined interval with a side wall of the vertical fuel passage 7b.
